Year 6 headed out onto the field to visualise the evolution of life through time and what an extraordinary journey it was. Their curiosity was buzzing and their imaginations were on fire. A brilliant afternoon of learning in action!

Our brandnew archery sets are officially a hit! The children had an amazing time exploring their aim and coordination during playtime and the smiles said it all. Such a big success already, we love seeing them try new things with so much enthusiasm
Year 1 have been reading "There's a RangTan in My Bedroom" and the children have absolutely loved it. The story has sparked so many thoughtful conversations about protecting the rainforest and looking after our planet. They were also fascinated to learn that Emma Thompson, who wrote the foreword to the book, is a famous actress. Mrs Carter showed them a picture of her as Nanny McPhee, which caused lots of excitement and quite a few of the children have now gone home and watched the film!
We welcomed the Community Dental Services UK into school to offer dental checkups for pupils whose parents opted in. The dental team were brilliant, warm, patient and fantastic at helping children feel relaxed about their visit. Many pupils came away feeling proud and more confident about caring for their teeth. We're grateful for partnerships like this that support our children's health and wellbeing
The korma curry was a big hit at lunch time. Even those who weren't too sure at first were eager to give it a try and we saw plenty of thumbs up across all year groups. Lots of happy faces, empty plates and plenty coming back for seconds!
Reception have been busy learning all about plants. They have been learning about the names of the main parts of a plant and they have a little song to help remember them! They enjoyed planting sunflower seeds to take home and look after, some of which have also been planted in the garden. The class are very excited to watch them grow and see how tall they become
Empower, the primary school mentoring project at The Mix, popped in at lunchtime to offer a focused session on Year 6 SATS and worries about transitions to high school. The session was well attended and children were respectful, honest and conscientious in how they spoke to our guests and asked some fabulous questions. Thank you to Empower for delivering the session.
