Salary: £25,185 per annum (FTE), £8,011 pro rata salary

Hours: 14 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 38 weeks per year (term-time only).

Contract: Fixed term (till end of December 2026), required ASAP

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and organised After School Club Leader to lead our popular after‑school provision. This is a wonderful opportunity to support children in a safe, nurturing and engaging environment at the end of the school day.

About the Role

As Afterschool Club Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of fun, age‑appropriate activities for children aged 4–11. You will create a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their time after school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games and homework support
  • Ensure the safety, welfare and safeguarding of all children at all times
  • Prepare and serve snacks, following food hygiene and allergy procedures
  • Maintain daily registers and records, including incidents and parent communication
  • Set up and clear away equipment, maintaining a clean and organised space
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and school staff
  • Supervise staff, volunteers or play workers where applicable
  • Monitor resources and report any supply needs

The Successful Candidate Will Have

Essential:

  • Experience working with children aged 4–11
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to plan and lead structured activities
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
  • Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent experience)

Desirable:

  • Food hygiene certification
  • Experience leading or supervising others
  • SEN experience
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training
