Owls visit Chilton

25th November 2016

On Friday 25th November, the children were extremely excited when they walked into assembly and heard a squeaking noise from a big black box. Was it a parrot? In fact, Miss Yaroslaw had organised for Suffolk Owl Sanctuary to come into assembly.

The children met Taiga, an 18-month baby owl. The children learnt about how the sanctuary cares for owls who have broken wings or other illnesses which means they would not be able to survive in the wild alone.

The children thoroughly enjoyed it. One year 5 child learnt that, “The male ones have speckles and the female ones are plain white. The wild ones are the other way round.”
