Tractor visit

12th February 2019
As a part of the East Anglian Daily Times Tractors into Schools initiative Chilton Primary School were lucky enough to receive a visit from local farmers David Nunn & James Nunn. The children were very excited to go out and see the tractor and find out how it worked.  Children were able to climb on board and see the controls of the German tractor. Pupils in years 3 and 4 are currently studying farming as part of their topic work so this visit from the farmers & tractor was a great addition to their learning in the classroom.  Younger pupils were also able to go out and see the tractor up close and meet the farmers. The children really enjoyed the experience and Alfie year 4 said “ We loved it! It was a great experience. We couldn’t believe how massive it was. The most impressive thing was the computer inside and it told us how much fuel it had used. The satellite was also impressive as well because it operated the tractor. The farmers answered all of our questions.”
