Curriculum Introduction

The Curriculum

At Chilton Community Primary School subjects are taught through topics, some subjects and objectives are taught discreetly, if appropriate. The timings of the topics are flexible, to suit the needs of the children and to allow for learning opportunities which may arise during the school year.

Lessons are planned to develop curiosity and to allow children to gain knowledge, allowing opportunities to apply practical, English and Maths skills where possible. We aim to make links to the local community, frequently using trips and visitors. We expect children to challenge themselves and for the learning to be supported by parents.

Chilton Community Primary School follows the National Curriculum and uses a range of resources to support this teaching.
